Zudem können sich die Ohrenrobben an Land noch sicher und schnell bewegen (Hinterbeine unter dem Körper), während die Hundsrobben sich nur langsam vorwärts wälzen können. Ihr Kopf ist klein und sitzt auf einem kräftigen Hals.
